The short version: Wanderfiend collects nothing about you and has nowhere to send it. There is no account and no sign-in. The app uses the network for three things — fetching an updated list of places, loading place photos, and checking for app fixes — and none of those requests carry personal information.
Location
With your permission, the app reads your device location to show where you are on the map and pick the nearest neighborhood. The coordinates stay on your device and are never sent anywhere.
Your profile and saves
Your name, your fiend’s nickname, your preferences, saved places, and your chat with the fiend are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.
Network
The app downloads an updated list of places from this website and place photos from assets.sunlitgamestudio.com. It also asks Expo’s update service (expo.dev) whether a newer version of the app’s code is available; that request includes the app version and a random installation ID used only to deliver updates. None of these requests include your name, your location, or anything you’ve saved. Map tiles are provided by Apple Maps under Apple’s privacy policy.
