Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
Sunlit Game Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our website at sunlitgamestudio.com or our iOS app KinLife (together, the “Services”).
We have designed KinLife to collect as little personal information as possible. The app does not require an account, and your gameplay stays on your device.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- If you contact us for support by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you.
Information collected automatically
- Gameplay data. Your game progress, clan, and settings are stored locally on your device. KinLife does not require an account, and we do not upload, sync, or store your gameplay on our servers.
- Crash and diagnostic data. To keep the app stable, KinLife reports crashes and errors through Sentry. A crash report may include your device model, operating system version, app version, and technical details about the error. These reports are not linked to your identity, and we use them solely to diagnose problems and improve the app.
- App updates. We use Expo and its build and update service (EAS) to deliver app updates. Delivering an update involves a routine technical request from your device (for example, the app and runtime version) so the correct update can be served.
- Website analytics. This website uses Vercel Analytics to collect basic, aggregated usage data such as page views and general region. This data is anonymous, and individual visitors are not tracked across sites.
- Website performance. This website uses Vercel Speed Insights to measure anonymous, aggregated performance metrics (such as page load speed) so we can keep the site fast. This data is not linked to your identity, and individual visitors are not tracked across sites.
Purchases and Advertising
KinLife offers an optional in-app purchase (a membership). The app also shows advertising, which helps keep KinLife free. Buying the membership removes ads.
- In-app purchases. Payments are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage purchases and entitlements. RevenueCat assigns you an anonymous app-user identifier and receives purchase and receipt data from Apple on our behalf. This data is tied to that anonymous identifier, not to your name, email, or an account. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
- Advertising. Ads in KinLife are delivered through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may use a device advertising identifier (such as Apple’s Identifier for Advertisers). On iOS, we first ask for your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow tracking, ads may be personalized using that identifier, including across other apps and websites. If you decline — or turn off ad tracking in your device settings — you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized and will not use your advertising identifier to track you. You can change this choice at any time in your device’s privacy settings.
Third-Party Services
The following services may process limited data on our behalf as part of operating the Services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Sentry — crash and error reporting
- Expo / EAS — app delivery and updates
- Apple — app distribution and payments
- RevenueCat — in-app purchase and subscription management
- Google AdMob — in-app advertising
- Vercel — website hosting and analytics
How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Services
- To diagnose crashes and fix bugs
- To process and manage in-app purchases and memberships
- To show advertising that helps keep the app free
- To respond to your support requests
- To understand, in aggregate, how the website is used
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data for money.
We share data only with the service providers listed above, to the minimum extent necessary to operate the Services, or where required by law.
Some privacy laws (such as California’s) may treat the use of an advertising identifier to personalize ads as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. You can opt out at any time by declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt or by turning off ad tracking in your device’s privacy settings, after which ads are no longer personalized and your advertising identifier is not used to track you.
Data Retention
Support emails are retained for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and keep a reasonable record of correspondence. Crash, diagnostic, and analytics data is retained according to each provider’s own retention policies. Gameplay data remains on your device until you delete the app or clear its data.
Children’s Privacy
KinLife is rated 12+ on the Apple App Store. It contains no content intended only for adults; occasional mild themes such as conflict, loss, and romance are handled in a restrained, age-appropriate way consistent with Apple’s 12+ guidelines.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. The services we use may collect minimal, anonymous technical data as part of normal app operation, and we do not receive personally identifying information from them. If you are under 13, please have a parent or guardian review this Privacy Policy. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information directly (for example, through a support email), please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to opt out of certain uses of it. To make a request, get in touch here.
For data held by third-party services (such as Sentry or Expo), please contact those services directly using the links above.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
