Remi — Privacy Policy

Remi is made by Sunlit Game Studio LLC. This policy describes the Remi app and how it handles your information.

On-device listening and AI

iPhone listening begins only when you start a session in the app. On Apple Watch, recording begins when you tap Record a thought. Apple’s speech technology transcribes speech on your device, and Apple Foundation Models process it on your device to suggest memories. We do not operate a server that receives your audio, transcripts, or memories, and Remi does not send them to an external AI provider.

During iPhone listening sessions, Remi does not save audio recordings. A short audio buffer, up to 30 seconds, exists in memory during a session and is discarded. Transcripts are stored locally and expire after seven days. Saved memories, to-dos, facts, conversation information, attachments you add, and settings remain locally until removed.

Apple Watch voice captures

When you record a thought on Apple Watch, Remi saves a short audio file on the watch and transfers it to your paired iPhone using Apple WatchConnectivity. This is a transfer between your devices, not an upload to a studio server or external AI service.

The watch keeps its queued audio until the iPhone confirms receipt. Undelivered captures older than seven days are removed when the watch next checks its queue. The iPhone keeps a received file while transcription is pending or being retried, then removes it after the transcript has been committed. These files are temporary processing and delivery copies; they are not included in Remi’s private iCloud backup.

Sign in with Apple

Remi uses Sign in with Apple. The sign-in request includes a name permission, but Remi stores only the Apple user identifier in your device’s Keychain; it does not store the returned name or request your email address. We do not receive your Apple account password.

Optional private iCloud backup

If you use iCloud backup, Remi sends a backup of saved memories, to-dos, and facts to your private iCloud database through Apple CloudKit. Audio and transcripts are excluded. This requires an iCloud account on your device and is separate from signing in to Remi. You can manage backup from Profile → iCloud backup; the app also works without this backup.

Apple operates iCloud under its own privacy practices. We do not receive your private backup on a studio server. Your device’s own system backups may also retain app data according to your Apple backup settings.

Permissions you control

• Microphone: used during listening sessions you start. A system microphone indicator and Live Activity show when a session is running.
• Location: requested when you enable location inclusion, to add location context. Remi requests When In Use access.
• Camera: requested when you attach a photo to a task.
• Notifications: optional local reminders at your chosen daily times. Notification text contains counts, not the content of your memories. Remi does not use push notifications.

You can change permissions in iPhone Settings.

Analytics and advertising

Remi does not include advertising, tracking, or an analytics service that sends app usage to us. We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices and deletion

Profile → Privacy lets you export your data, forget recent memories, or delete local data. If you export or share information, the destination you choose receives it and its privacy practices apply. Keep exported files private if they contain sensitive information.

Profile → Account → Delete account removes local iPhone app data, the private iCloud backup, and the saved Apple sign-in identifier. Audio still queued on Apple Watch follows the receipt and expiry rules above. Cloud deletion requires access to iCloud; if it fails, Remi asks you to retry. Deleting the app alone does not remove your private iCloud backup, exported files, or copies retained in system backups.

Support correspondence

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send, and use it to respond and investigate your request. Please avoid sending private recordings, transcripts, memories, or unredacted screenshots.

Apple services and this website

Apple provides the App Store, Sign in with Apple, iCloud, and downloadable on-device speech and AI assets. Apple’s handling of information is described in Apple’s privacy policy. This policy covers Remi; website practices, including site analytics, are described in our website Privacy Policy.
